We are so in sync — I’m putting the finishing touches on my next newsletter about #secondacts (which I teased in notes recently) and striving (or in this case not doing so) plays a role thanks to wisdom from Lyn Slater.
Happy to be in sync with you! I look forward to reading your piece- there’s so much to think about on the topic. I almost hesitated to use the word strive because in some ways it feels like there are negative connotations around it, but the word means something different to me now than it did when I was younger. I feel much more in alignment now with the things I am working toward. I loved Lyn’s book- it was so smart and so thoughtful- I admire her so much! Have a great weekend…
Oh, man. I’m laughing at the stoned cat caption (and photo) and also the reference to the many indignities of air travel because, my goodness, there are a LOT. My husband and I talk about this frequently! And I’m nodding along to the need to unplug and not be tuned in to all the things, all the time. It’s wild how we’ve become accustomed to being constantly reachable and, if nothing else, I’m glad I knew a world before this one where it was a landline or nothing. Thanks for sharing this, loved reading it.
Omg it’s the only way to travel with a cat- it’s the one way they are more difficult than dogs! And I love your thought about knowing the world before- sometimes I find that time hard to remember. I am definitely making more of an effort to unplug from time to time, which feels like self care these days! Have a wonderful weekend, friend!
So many things to ruminate on. And this idea of seeking airplane mode - the half caf coffee - I love that and want to practice. Grateful for you and only a little mad you left. XO

There are definitely pros and cons to the phrase second acts as well, which I was happy to explore. Stay tuned! xx
A great read as always. I can relate to all of it and always appreciate the recommendations. I look forward to your essays always!
I appreciate you immensely! Thank you xo
