THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Thank you. Grateful to have the gift of you! And I will add, as a LEo/extrovert, I am missing the birthday part gene. I opted to eat Italian subs on the couch with Jim while binging Presumed Innocent, no matter how much he attempted to persuade me otherwise.
Oh Dina, this is profoundly beautiful. Sending you love from across the pond this month, as you so perfectly put it, “holding both the joys and the sorrows” in your heart. You weave both through extraordinarily in this essay, and your words are a gift and bring comfort and solidarity in the way that the most powerful and true sharing of stories does. Thank you. 🙏 ❤️
Oh my goodness, Jenni, thank you for this most kind and generous comment! It makes my heart so happy to hear that something I have written can connect and bring comfort in that way- it's the highest compliment and such an honor... xo
Oh, bittersweet September, indeed, Dina. As you embark on another trek around the sun, I'll wish for you more of what fills your heart, soothes your soul, and nourishes your spirit. Grateful for you and your ability to put into words what many feel -including me - about birthdays and feting ourselves. Your voice is so clear in this piece!
Thank you for this, Kim- what a special feeling it is to know that your words are resonating- it's truly the reason I push myself to open up, to allow myself to be vulnerable, and to share. I appreciate you...x
I think I'm quite the opposite when it comes my birthdays. I spend most of the year taking care of people so it's the one day of the year I want to be pampered. 😊 But I get it, sometimes fate steps in and brings heartache on special days. It sounds like you know exactly how to celebrate your birthday (or not). I hope it turns out to be just the way you want it. Xo Nipa
You are such a gift to the world, Dina. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. A month of many big feelings for you. Sending love your way, and I hope you’re able to find peace and joy amongst the tender memories ❤️
Wow, so kind, Skylar- and you know I feel the same way about you and your generous sharing of your heart. Thank you so much for the love and wishes...xo

Well that sounds like the perfect birthday celebration to me, my friend! And thank YOU, most generous of souls, for the gift of your friendship... xx
A most lovely, heartfelt and thoughtful essay Dina. Thank you for opening yourself up here and sharing these bits and pieces ;)
Thank you for this beautiful comment- I'm so glad you enjoyed it! xo
My Mother’s Birthday is 9/28. She left on 5/20/19. I get very emotional all September. I Hope you and your Dad had a Blessed Birthday!
I understand- it weighs so heavy on our hearts... And thank you- sending you much September love...xo
Thank you so much! I listened to a sermon by Dr Barnhouse on YouTube. It’s called Divine Healing. It has brought me some solace🙏.
p.s. welcome back! Missed your words here! XO
XOXO
