Great read and I can relate to so much. Aah, Beaches. Although an amazing movie on all levels, I can’t watch it again. I can watch other ‘tear jerkers’ more than once but this one hurts deep.

Just read yesterday the menopause findings and new bill 👍 so grateful to hear all of this good news while I’m actually going through it!

I can’t remember the last time I saw it, and I’m with you, not sure I could watch again! And yes so much progress in action on the menopause front- so heartening! Thank you so much for reading!

The mother and daughter. How could you not, my lovely friend. Here with tissues always. Or froze when those won’t cut it.

Oh I can relate! Parallel lives exist here. I cried so often as a child and so little as an adult so there is definitely another common thread here. And - another great piece. I do love all of your links!

Me too, Dina! I didn't express my emotions quite as much during my high school years, but since I left home and moved a continent away from my parents, I cry over every parent-child reunion in every movie even the funny ones. And honestly, I think it's healthy to cry in public. I don't know how crying became so taboo but I think holding in emotions is contributing to anxiety and jaw cleansing and all sorts of other issues. Loved this post Xo Nipa

Oh I can imagine how hard it feels to be so far away! And I could not agree more- it's so easy to avoid feeling our feelings in this hyper-distracted world, and doing so leads, as you said, to all sorts of issues. I think we would be a lot better off if we were collectively more in touch with our emotions!

Another perfectly timed piece, Dina. As I sit this week sobbing on and off, still mourning the loss of my mother fourteen years later, I'm struck by how often I cry. Though awkwardly cleansing and necessary at times, I find that crying like all pure emotions that expose us takes more energy and strength than weakness. Crier unite, I say, for we are the ones with big feelings who aren't afraid to show them. (I am loving your pieces offered in Mood Salad, too.)

This resonates with me on so many level. I was just sharing with my daughter how gutted I was after watching Beaches and how it still makes me sob. I also used to vehemently exclaim that I’m simply not a crier (I could count on my hands how often that happened too) but my father's death changed that for me as well. Sending love!

Oh wow, Tonya- so much commonality here! I wondered if this would resonate, as I often just felt like an outlier in those dry-eyed years, and again in my new-found waterworks phase. I'm so happy you enjoyed. Sending love right back...x

PS I haven't watched Beaches in years but OMG that movie...

I am happy to be in such good, emotional company, Kim! Sending love as you think about your mom- I know that next week leading into mother's day will be difficult- I'll be thinking about mine too, as I do every day. And thank you- I'm so happy you are enjoying the links! Have a great weekend...x

Love this and relate so much (😭)! “Maybe it’s growth, maybe it’s the indelible impact of grief” … this resonates deeply. Yes to the tissues, and mascara needs to be water-resistant at least for me these days! Also, fantastic links, thank you - looking forward to checking them out. 🙌🫶
