Oh I loved this! One of my favourite past times in Nice is people watching for the fashion, and I’m always especially in awe of the effortlessness of the 50+ women. I wish we’d celebrate all ages more in fashion and not hyperfixate on the next gen only, you know?

Loved everything about this and it completely resonates with me. I’m in my 50’s with my career in the rear view mirror and all the clothes, shoes and accessories to show for it!😂 Still trying to figure out how to transition to my new retired lifestyle without being in leggings or workout shorts every day! Thanks for your thoughts, pictures and inspiration!🩷

Thank you, Lesli- I’m so happy you enjoyed! And I went through the same thing when I transitioned from office life to working for myself years back- I’ve landed on clothes with a lot more ease- relaxed wide leg jeans and pants, long skirts, tees and blazers. And not gonna lie, some days it’s leggings and work out gear! But it’s fun to experiment as we evolve!

A great piece Dina on how our style evolves. I love the confidence clothing drives us when done right! I can picture you on that street corner waiting for your now husband in that camel mini skirt! I also love all the photos you snapped. There is just so much to see in this city and fashion and style inspiration

definitely lives here.

It’s so powerful, right? The way it can make you feel, how it impacts the way we carry ourselves, and how it influences the way people perceive us- it’s all so interesting! And who knows, you might have been standing right across the street from us!

Oh my goodness, I love everything about this piece and so relate to everything you say. Those vintage photos are wonderful, and I absolutely adore the photos in your neighbourhood – it makes me want to teleport there and walk around the block with my daughter for the inspo! 😄❤️ We felt the same when we went to Florence, last spring, just seeing all ages, expressing their style - THEMSELVES- with such joy and beauty. I still love wearing metallic and sequined skirts, which I will habitually with my white Supergas all through my 20s and 30s, and now I do - I am magnetically drawn to them on any rail 🤣 - but just in a slightly different way that feels, as you put it so perfectly, like me now. Thank you for writing this, I’m saving it to remind me of so much of what you said, and I want to forward it to so many friends! 💗👏👏👏

Thank you so much! And those skirts sound fabulous- I can understand how you are still drawn to them! Like little bits of your fashion history that you can still enjoy with some tweaks to suit how you feel today- I love that they continue to make you feel good! I bet Florence was amazing- I find so much style inspo on the city streets- so much creativity, and as you say, expressed with such joy and beauty! So happy you enjoyed...x

That's just it - "little bits of your fashion history" - and our stories, inextricably woven into that and them. I SO agree about city street style watching, nothing like it! 💗

Yes please, more NYC street shots. One of my favourite things to do in Manhattan is to sit (or stand) and enjoy the street fashion parade in the West Village. Fills me with delight.
